Depends on the guy. Romantics (what this guy seems to be) tend to be rather naive about girls and oftentimes interpret anything that isn't a clear rejection as a possible indicator of interest. For example, he might interpret that smile and saying nothing as playing hard to get and will just make him try harder.

Because somehow within the last century, it has become the general (and extremely erroneous) consensus that girls are attracted to romantic behaviour. "Be yourself", "tell her how you feel", "write her poetry", this is extremely bad advice that's advertised in movies, media, magazines - everywhere. Why is it bad advice? Because it's not what women are biologically hardwired to find attractive in guys. Sure, they might enjoy reading that poem you wrote, but she'll only enjoy it in the sense that she enjoys the attention you give her without her actually giving anything in return. But it doesn't make her feel attracted to you - on the contrary.Too much romance nowadays, a simply "Fa te plac, hai sa ti-o trag" would have bigger chances to succeed.
