Teh Official OMG WTF thread.

HellFire

Jesus Christ why don't they put a ban on bitcoin/litecoin mining already, they destroyed the GPU market, now every single GPU is getting close ( if not more ) to a 30% increase in price,I have to pay 'bout 25-30 % more for a 7950 that I can't even find anymore at a reasonable price,if I can find one

I updated my phone's firmware and the apps that needed root don't work anymore. And all the useless apps I removed are back. I guess it's unrooted. I don't have to do anything else to unroot it, right? Cause I want to take it back, sometimes it shuts down for no reason and it only starts back after I remove the battery.

Bavanai

She's like the person who's too cheap/lazy to call the electrician to change the socket and ends up destroying the whole installation or getting electrocuted :D

Here's what happened,KIES doesn't like Odin,or w/e you used to flash your phone (someone correct me if I'm wrong,I haven't done any research/gave a damn about android dev since the S3 was released) when you installed kies it detected that you're not running an official rom,so it made the update,it changed the cyanogen mod, changed as in wipe ( if that's what you were running) into the stock android version, that's why your phone is full of bloatware again, when you used kies to update, you got the official version of the OS,that's why those apps that required root are not working anymore and your phone is full of pre-installed apps again. Just so you know, the moment you flashed your phone you lost your warranty. Those crashes don't sound good,If I were you I'd wipe the entire phone, look on a stable build and flash it again as soon as possible, something got messed up when you updated, something that has to do with the kernel, probably, like I said,I don't know too much anymore,I'd have to research a little again.

The crashes were happening before. They have nothing to do with the flash or with the update I made today. And I want it unrooted, so it's ok what happened. If that is what happened. And how do they know I rooted the device or not?

Binary counter. You can just flash the official version,go to the warranty duud and don't say a word about you rooting the phone, thing is,dunno if our beloved country voids the warranty of the phone if you root it or you're still covered. by the way,by any chance, did you OC your processor?and how much ram does it have?It might freez/reset due to cpu overheat or because you ran out of memory. Try turning wi-fi off, you're a girl,I bet my damn life your phone is full of farmville-like apps that constantly do something in the background while the internet is turned on.

That's what I want to do, erase all my tracks. xD I tried to use the program Deux gave me to unroot/flash a backup image, but I kinda got lost when I got to TWRP. I think I'll try it again tomorrow. My head hurts now and I don't want to ruin my phone.
I didn't OC anything. 804MB of ram, usually ~500 in use. My Wi-Fi is always on! I don't have many games and I usually close all the active apps if I don't use them.

Like I said before, you can erase the tracks and make it look like you didn't root it,but if they want to find out, they will. Every time you root that binary counter increases,Nuno is way ahead of me when it comes to modding phones os wise, try asking him since he works at vodafone he should know the rma protocol better than I do
