I have a foot fetish, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a fetish. Imagine how bleak the world would be if everyone just had normal intercourse...

i didn't say it's wrong, show me where i said it's wrong. i used it as comparison of how one might acquire homosexuality because it's one of the most common fetishes people have.

So if I make a thread in /r/gay or whatever called "when was the first time you realized you were gay" and someone comes and posts "I saw this smoking hot barechested dude in a magazine" are you gonna conclude that seeing naked dudes makes you gay?

That was an example within reach. I don't feel like searching for a scientific paper on how people acquire fetishes. Some journals are completely wrong anyway, they say it's "because of genes", I'd like to have a word with people who have fetishes, for example, for a specific type of animal, how exactly is that fetish for a particular species of animal coded into his genes. Or fetishes for man-made objects - how can our 200.000 year old DNA have coded in it a fetish for cell phones, I have no idea.

well this is basically where our opinions really start to diverge. i think it is a fetish. at least most of the time. some people may have some kind of same-sex drive like those gay penguins, but I think most just create an identity out of their fetish.

So you're saying that there are some "natural" gays, according to your "theory of nature", and some "unnatural" ones, that are driven by fetishes, right?

Homosexuality isn't a fetish. Sexual fetishism (copypasta from wikipedia): sexual fixation with objects, body parts, or situations not conventionally viewed as being sexual in nature. Homosexuality is a lifestyle. By saying all of it is a choice, you're saying that there are perfectly normal people out there who willingly put up with abuse, disappointment, peer pressure, intolerance and ostracizing for no reason other than they wanted to "stick it to the man". That is an insane statement.

Now I have no doubt that it CAN be a choice, especially with women. But not all of it.

OR... that he simply likes taking it in the ass or giving it in the ass enough that those cons you just mentioned don't matter. I can draw a parallel with my LoL addiction here - some of my friends make fun of me because I play LoL and I can see how it negatively affects me as a person. I still play it, with all the peer pressure, extreme moods. Why? Because it's my vice.

Didn't think so. Nor can you stop liking the foods you like and start liking the ones you dislike. So if you happened to like men instead of women, wouldn't the same idea apply?

Seriously. What if YOU were gay. Would you "snap yourself out of it"? Or would you try to make it work and live with who you are?

well i'd say homosexuality is a state of mind and not a sexuality.

since any gay man would physically enjoy having sex with a women but not physiologically, same as any heterosexual man would physically enjoy anal sex but not physiologically since he find the idea of a dick in his ass repulsive.

that said, the state of mind is easily changed during the process of growing up so yeah i kinda agree withe logica's POV.

would a gay man enjoy sex with a woman? Definitely yes, from a physical pov, as in enjoying an orgasm. Would he be able to get it up in order to enjoy sex with a woman or be able to climax? Most likely no.
Besides, I think homosexuality is not just about the sexual part of a relationship, but also about the emotional one. Source: I've met some gay dudes in Paris. Don't ask.
