That's great. But what exactly do you do as a wind turbine technician? Do you have, like, studies for it like engineering or is it something you can learn fast to do with no specialised studies?
Cuz the job I got took some time to learn, all my coworkers have some kind of technical college but the pay for me is still shit. The older coworkers get like 50-60% more than I do even though our productivity is the same. 3 other newfag coworkers get the same shit salary I get.
You don't really have to be the best in the world, you just have to know a couple of things and have decent english skills, everyone else that took the interview failed,I was the only one that got the job. As for the studies,I did a 5 month course so I could get my certification for both high and low voltage/tension whatever you want to call it,and that's pretty much it. The rest of the certifications are being payed by the company. Monday I'll have to start a new one at Monsoon so I can learn the basics ( level 1 ) of a wind turbine, and it goes up to level 4,which starts to incorporate hidraulics as well,it takes a lot of time and I'm somewhat nervous but I have a lot of people that got my back, especially my father. I'm not going to say that I only got the job because he works there and has a somewhat important role/position in the company. I mostly got it because the guy in charged liked me and the type of person I am,he said right from the start that he needs dedicated people that don't collapse under pressure or cause problems/can't behave properly in certain situations. He said I was disciplined and he liked that. But as I was saying,I wasn't the only one that had the certification, hell,I don't even have experience, but I had a good all around "package" that the company was looking for like being young, motivated,"somewhat" strong not only physically but mentally as well and so on,apart from the fact that I got the highest score while taking that small "english" exam (which was boring as hell) there was really nothing complicated. He didn't hire the rest of the guys because they couldn't speak english properly. It's a underlined requirement in the job description.
The sallary is somewhat identical for all of us,I get the same exact sallary as any other technician.
