Everyone should be entitled to equality, man. You can't choose your race or gender. And despite what you really want to think, neither can you choose your sexuality. Fair treatment across the board is what every society should strive for.
Now granted, it's very hard to discern whether someone is discriminating, has poor judgement or just the person in question isn't qualified. To that end I agree that education is more important than forcing people. But there are some really educated people out there who like to discriminate like crazy.
This is exactly like the "I shouldn't have to protect myself from attackers, MEN SHOULD BE TAUGHT NOT TO RAPE" argument. To that I say: and I shouldn't have to lock the door to my house, THEIVES SHOULD BE TAUGHT NOT TO STEAL. Guess what, this isn't the perfect world, this is a very imperfect world. People are taught not to rape and steal but they STILL DO IT. So the only constructive thing to do is take agency and personal responsibility for your own protection. Same with this "everyone should be entitled to equality" argument. Yeah, in a perfect world. But this is the real world. Either you adapt to the world or you fail in life. The world won't adapt to you.
Deers shouldn't be murdered and eaten by lions. But they are. Earthquakes shouldn't indiscriminately kill people. But they do. The list of examples why you aren't entitled to anything can go on forever. Luckily, you are entitled to life and not having your shit stolen according to the government (but not really, since the government has the power to either end your life or basically end your life with prison and fines for stupid victimless "crimes"). But that's about it.
Arguing for self-improvement is a little bit ironic coming from you.
Why? Just because I made this realization late in my life doesn't mean that I can't admit that I missed out by not doing it. If anything, it's something admirable, not something you can point out as a flaw. Because most people will point to X and Y and say "I failed because of HIM or because of HER or because of the system!". No, I'm a little shit because that's what I deserve to be based on my actions in life. I didn't adapt to the world I live in, I waited for the world to change and adapt to me and now I'm paying for it.
