Those things are useless for me, I prefer having the performance boost and being able to make the android experience better.

You're actually loosing performance since there's no documentation released by Samsung regarding Exynos, hence you're using generic drivers.
Try to play a game with touchwiz framework and then the same game on AOSP, measure frame rate and come back. Only performance you will notice on CM is that there's no redraws from the launcher because you have more free ram and the launcher has higher priority on CM getting killed in last in case of low Ram.

Depends on what you want. The GS4 has some nice extras that's missing from AOSP but on the other side the Nexus 5 has timely updates and faster CPU.
At the end of the day it comes to your preference, but if you liked AOKP and the Galaxy Nexus you will see some differences to the GS4 due to touchwiz.
Other then that, both are top of the line smartphones.
