It's literally the first thing the employer started whining about when we talked. Boo hoo people stay for 6 months then quit their jobs.
Aaaaand that's the main reason you should say NO. If ppl leave after 6 months then clearly something is wrong.
Also, no benefits? WTF at least they could offer some meal tickets, because it's something that helps with the expenses, and Bucharest is an expensive place to live in.
Imo: if they don't drop the 4 year contract clause OR offer more money then I would say no and wait for more opportunities, which will come soon because in springtime there are always more jobs available than in the rest of the year.

Whatever you do,DO NOT SIGN THAT 4 YEAR CONTRACT! If something ever happens you won't be able to leave. Try to get rid of that crap or don't take the job, better stay at home and look for something ok instead of regreting your decision. I already can't wait to quit my job. I'm leaving for Holland Monday on the 23rd,too bad I won't stay in Amsterdam :( I already feel like crap, don't know how some people love to leave their hometown/Country,I don't..

If they don't want to renegotiate the contract leave it,fuck it. It sounds fishy as it is 560eur / month as a entry level programmer in C. Something tells me you'll have to work a shitton of (unpayed) overtime including saturdays. I signed my contract for 40 hours/ week as well, and I work 70 hours a week. I'll stay here until ~december - january. Gonna get the car I want as soon as I come back in April 23rd , then I'll leave again for 2 months and get the bike + 2 more months to save some money,by December, early january I should be ready to quit.

They didn't send me the contract. I mailed them, no response. They're not gonna send me the contract today.

I'm not moving one finger to get things going until I see the motherfucking contract.

Today an announcement popped on my Facebook feed, with a job offering. The main points:

So basically, this guy makes real life adventure video game puzzles. "Escape rooms" they're called, you have to solve the puzzles so you can escape. I would have to learn how to make one from scratch in the end, but many of the skills I have learned at my current job are good at this one.

So I talked to him over Facebook, and after work went to the interview. The employer is a guy in his 30s, he seemed cool, some kind of french/italian/swiss or something like that, hard to tell because his English was good. The employer will send me a project and see how I fare with it. If he likes it, I'll be hired.

@Shade: Before you sign that 4 year prison agreement, ask about raises. When they occur, how they happen(do they come after an evaluation or at fixed time intervals) and stuff like that.
Also, read up on that 4 year bullshit. Odds are the clause is one that's easy to escape. Read up on what the consequences are.

They sent me the "contract". Which is nothing but a contract form. Nothing about the salary, raises, other benefits, insurance.

But they sure added that 4 year clause with no ambiguous wording!

I'm gonna have a talk with mister shits-on-his-employees boss man.

Delfzijl. Fucking sucks
Lol. That's up in the north in the middle of nowhere. Even from Amsterdam it would take like 2h to get there. If you happen to pass by in Amsterdam let me know. Maybe I'll still be around.

Yeah I just shat on my employer.

Raised the stakes to 30 mil + annual raises + adjustment for inflation and reducing the prison clause to 2 years. He agreed to everything except the base salary. I agreed to cut all contact.

It was very pleasant with a diplomatic tone that did nothing to alleviate the fact that I was putting him on the spot big time and formally shitting all over him with leading questions such as "does this exist, and if it does, why isn't it on the contract".

Is it possible that my bew PC sees my Nvidia GTX970 as a random VGA card just because drivers are not installed? I didn't order a dvdrom with the PC and, ironically, all drivers (including the ethernet card's one) are on CDs ...
It also limits my resolution to less that it was before, with my previous PC, and doesn't recognize my monitor as a Philips, but as a generic display. (just like the video card).

Well, first i need to get my ethernet board drivers from the motherboard CD ... seeing as i can't connect to the internet w/o them. :S Damn it, why can't they just put them un flash drives, the drivers i mean.
Thanks btw. At least i can rest assured that its not something else causing this issue.

Good choice not taking that job. That 4 year clause was ridiculous. What's ur training?
I was talking to my boss today, her son's a programmer. Used to work for Google, now works for a foreign software company in Bucharest. He makes a shitload of money. Develops apps if i understood correctly.
